Overview

Founded in 2019, Aligned is a dynamic and mission-driven firm that invests exclusively in the companies and real assets that are accelerating clean energy deployment and decarbonizing the global economy. The Controller will lead all of Aligned’s financial operations including financial reporting, accounting, tax, audit, and bookkeeping. It is an exciting opportunity to shape the financial operations of a growing, impact-driven investment fund.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Controller will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial and accounting operations and books for Aligned’s entities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for investors, lenders, and the internal team.
  • Manage annual tax and financial accounting reporting cycle with outside accountants and auditors.
  • Ensure that Aligned maintains best-in-class financial and accounting policies and procedures for a firm of its size.
  • Maintain working relationship with Aligned’s accounting firm.
  • Oversee the work of Aligned’s Accountant (a full-time employee), including the setup of Accounts Payments for payment, monitoring of Accounts Receivable, and bookkeeping.
  • Work with Aligned’s fund administrator to support investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Evaluate and continually improve our financial processes.
  • Manage our accounting IT systems, including Intuit Enterprise Suite.
  • Oversee payroll execution.
  • Ensure strong documentation of standard procedures and accounting policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in accounting.
  • Prior experience in partnership accounting for investment funds.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in asset management desirable but not required.
  • Proven analytical skill. Financial modeling skill desirable but not required.
  • Experience in renewable energy, energy, or real estate desirable but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and fluency in quantitative, written, and verbal communications.
  • Proven ability to work across teams and functions.

Compensation

  • Salary between $150,000 – $170,000+ commensurate with experience
  • Eligibility for annual bonus
  • Eligibility to participate in carried interest in future funds
  • Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)

Job Title: Executive Assistant

Location: Los Angeles, California

Overview

Founded in 2019, Aligned is a dynamic and mission-driven firm that invests exclusively in the companies and real assets that are driving the clean energy transition.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive support to Aligned’s three Partners. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. The ideal candidate will anticipate needs, streamline operations, and ensure the Partners’ time is used effectively across both professional and personal responsibilities. This role will be based in Aligned’s Los Angeles, CA office and requires in-person attendance Monday through Thursday with remote work optional on Fridays.  While there may be opportunities for business travel in this role, it is not a primary component or expectation.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Executive Assistant will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Calendar and Scheduling Management:

  • Coordinate and maintain complex calendars for three Partners.
  • Schedule internal and external meetings, calls, and travel.
  • Proactively anticipate scheduling conflicts and resolve them independently.

Administrative Support:

  • Prepare and organize meeting materials, agendas, and follow-up notes.
  • Manage correspondence, including email and phone communication, on behalf of the Partners.
  • Help prioritize time and track projects and tasks on behalf of the Partners.

Travel Coordination:

  • Arrange domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and itineraries.
  • Track travel expenses and prepare expense reports in a timely manner.

Personal Assistance:

  • Support Partners with personal tasks such as appointments, household or family scheduling, and occasional errands.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters.

Project and Office Support:

  • Assist with ad hoc projects, event planning, and research assignments.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to support company operations.
  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the Firm’s offices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Executive or Personal Assistant, ideally supporting senior leaders, a high-profile principal, or multiple executives.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and calendar management tools (e.g., Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Flexible, resourceful, and able to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Previous experience in clean energy is not required.

Preferred:

  • Experience in any of the following industries: professional services, consulting, investments, entertainment, or real estate.

Compensation

  • Annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000
  • Eligible for annual bonus
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
